An additional two individuals have been arrested in connection with a robbery at London's Heathrow Airport where 21 people were injured by what is thought to be an irritant spray, as stated by law enforcement.
A 24-year-old man, was taken into custody in the Lambeth area for suspected theft and assault and a 23-year-old woman was detained on suspicion of conspiracy to commit robbery. Both individuals remain in custody, authorities confirmed.
These detentions follow a probe into an assault at the multi-level parking garage at Terminal 3 this past Sunday. Prior to the incident, a pair of female travelers had stolen from them their suitcases after getting out of a parking garage elevator.
A three-year-old girl was among the injured during the incident. Five people went to hospital for treatment and were later discharged.
Officers arrested a man in his thirties on suspicion of robbery and assault close to the location. He was subsequently released under investigation while inquiries continue.
Authorities were alerted at about 8:10 in the morning GMT following reports of several people hurt by a noxious substance thought to be an irritant spray.
The assault - which authorities stated was isolated and not being treated as an act of terror - caused delays to rail services and the temporary shutdown of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 parking facility for a short time.
